Alpha Coda Since we knew about this project between Menza and Ill Move Sporadic we anticipated the release with great optimism.  Last year IMS dropped The Magnetic Mixtape.  It featured the track ‘Battle Axes’ which also appears again on this release.  We figured from the moment we heard the track that any future collaborations would be deliver on many levels and since listening to Alpha Coda on loop for the past couple of weeks since the release we can assure you that we were not disappointed with this one.  We strongly urge you to get a copy as soon as you’ve finished reading this and believe this album will not move out of at least our ‘Top 5’ for the rest of the year.  A bold statement (official HC end of the year album chart + accompanying mixtape coming December - watch for that!). With great ability not to overload the listener despite cryptic lyricism throughout Menza comes sharp and clear with his delivery and message.  The most notable tracks are the hard hitting opener ‘Mercury’,  ‘Wild things’ whose eerie melody is backed up by a just as shuddersome (yes it is a word) video and ‘Bar Crushers’ which features a complimentary appearance current EOW UK Champion Tenchoo, whose ability to twist and turn over the IMS production beside Menza leaves us hoping this will be the first of many tracks between him and IMS. Everything from the track arrangement down to its pace (lyricism included) for us, is verging on perfection and this is not an understatement.  This is a very strong, standout release from the IMS camp and the distinctive beat arrangements IMS have tirelessly created over the past couple of years working closely with Menza have certainly paid off.  Don’t take our word for it.  Here it for yourself.
