As is tradition, please briefly introduce yourself and tell those who don’t know who you are and what you do!? My name is DeeJay Random. I am a Hip Hop DJ, 4 times U.K. DMC Finalist, Founder of The Steel Devils and I will terrify you, your family, all suckers, biters and toys.   How did you come to form The Steel Devils?  How did you meet one another? I’d known Chud since he was about 12 and he had hung around with me and my brother (Mike Bandoni, Drummer from “Funkshone”) for aaaaaages. I’d known Jazz T since about 89/90 from local Jams and Hip Hop Parties throughout Surrey. Dixie popped up on the scene about 97ish and I thought that we all thought the same and then decided we should form a crew. It was a no brainer. We were all kinda dope, knew our shit and complimented each others styles in a lot of ways. The Steel Devils were born. So, tell us about the Steel Devils Full Clip show.  How did that start and what made you move toward online radio? I was first offered a slot on Radioactive FM (I had a long history with them from their first days as a pirate station) alongside my friend Mr Stevie C. It was a Drum and Bass show. After a while, I thought it would be an excellent platform for The Steel Devils. We hooked up with Freestyle Fm and The “Full Clip” Show was thrust upon the world…This shit was free and we had the whole damn world to throw ourselves at. That was what swung it for me and the rest of The Steel Devils. Who have you had on as a guest so far & which was your most memorable show to date? We have had Cutmaster Swift, DJ Pogo, DJ Woody, DeeFlux, DJ Miracle, Dr Zygote, The Chubby Alcoholic, to name a few. The best show we done, I think, was the re-launch of the show with Cutmaster Swift. He fucking murdered it. He is a fucking genius. Full stop. And recently you mentioned to us that you have a new show on a new station just about to start? What can you tell us about that? Yup, it’s the DeeJay Random Sunday Binge on Binge radio.com. It’s fortnightly and a selection of stuff to wind up your weekend with. Wanna sampler? Try THIS. Moan about the selection and i’ll get fucking rowdy. Enjoy. Which is the best live Hip-Hop event you’ve been to and which was the best you’ve been a part of? That’s a helluva question…I’ve been involved in Hip Hop since 1987!!! Best show? Hmmm…Epmd and Stetsasonic was kinda dope…errrr…M.C. Mello, Swift, Pogo, Cookie Crew was kinda dope…ummmmm too many. Im gonna pass on that! Best show I’ve been involved with? A set I done with Jazzy Jeff, Madskillz and myself. That was it. To warm up a crew for a personnel legend was fucking incredible. The kinda shit you retire after!!! But I didn’t…. How do you feel the current state of Hip-Hop in the UK differs from when you first got in to it?  What’s changed for the better and what’s changed for the worse? U.K. Hip Hop is still dope. Peoples perceptions of it have changed but it’s still out there. Nothings really changed. We are all still slept on but, hey!, who fucking cares? You wanna big car?, slags? and not have to get up before midday? Fucking sign on…you ain’t gonna get that with being a U.K. Hip hop “star”. What is you view of Serato? It’s a progression. Its dope. It still enables you to use vinyl. Its as close to be labeled a ”Digital DJ” as I wanna get. Just to clarify, I don’t use it…I have nothing against it, I just haven’t got around to getting it yet as I don’t feel I need to. My back may argue with that though… What’s on heavy rotation up in Bork Towers right now? The new King of the Beats singles from Mark B and Danny Spice, Roc Marciano, Celph titled, Guilty Sipson, Random Axe, Pete Rock and Smif and Wessun album…etc etc etc etc etc etc! Can you name your top five create digging spots (without giving away too many secrets)? No. Ok, Where can people listen to you? Freestyle FM, fortnightly on The Steel Devils “Full Clip” show, Binge Radio.com, Sensei FM and my residency at King Of The Beats alongside DJ Devastate at King of the Beats…check these pages for more info on facebook here and here too Everything I do ends up on those pages…sets, radio shit, shows… Any shout outs? My older “Brothers”-The Enforcers (Cutmaster Swift, DJ Pogo, DJ Biznizz), My Bro, Funkshone, DJ Dexter, My Fam-King Of the Beats crew-Pritt Kalsi…Sparkii Ski…The4ce…DJ Devastate…Keith…Malcolm, The Steel Devils (Jazz T, DJ Dixie, DJ Chud), Stevie C, Diversion Tactics, Kane FM, Freestyle FM, Binge Radio.com, Sensei FM and Jda Kut, Naba Napalm, Cypher Skills, Koze, The Scratch Perverts (Primecuts, Tony Vegas, Plus One), The mixologists (DJ GO and Benni G), My Daughter, The Pooface…man…I’m gonna be here for hours doing this!
