Born & Raised in Slough Town First off, for those who don’t know but probably should do, please tell them who you are and where you’re from.. My name is Joker Starr Supercilious aka The G.A.W.D. and i am born and raised in Slough Town. What can people expect from your imminent release Blood-Ren? Blood-Ren is an album that is full of good music, good lyrics with no self glorification, head nodding beats for hip hoppers, a couple tracks for the ladies and just an all round great album. Nothing has been released like it by an UK artist before. This release appears on your independent label Flukebeat, where will people be able to pick it up and in what formats can they choose from? Its on CD and mp3 formats. Mp3s available from all digital vendors including Amazon and itunes. CDs available online from Bandcamp and Suspect Packages CD Pre-order HERE.  The itunes Pre order is HERE Flukebeat has been going for a good number of years, can you give us a little more information on it?  How long has it been going now and how important is it to you as an artist? I started putting out Flukebeat in 2009 as a way to get my music out there as I had been out of the Hip-hop circle for a while and people I had once worked with no longer made music. It means that I can put out what I want..when I want. You say out of the Hip-Hop circle.. was it your own decision to take a step back or was your life complicated by other things which meant you couldn’t be as heavily involved as you had previously been at that moment in time?  Either way you seem to be back stronger than ever.. It was always hard for me to balance a job and music career. Not easy to do both because there is always that balance between never having the time or the money to do it. Now I have more time to do it.  I seem to be making a lot more headway and a little more consistent noise so lets see where it will take me this year. You’re associated with YNR Records and appear on the official website, along with some of the very best rappers and beat producers the UK has to offer (and deservedly so).  What does this mean to you and what can you tell us about the label? I am not actually on YNR (the label) but am good friends with all the artists on there. I guess I am an unofficial member. All the artists over there are all pushing toward doing big things for Hip-hop. It’s a pleasure to work and be associated with all those guys. Who are you most impressed with at the moment?  Are there and beat producers /  rappers you feel are on the fringe and would recommend people look out for? What are you currently listening to? No one in particular. The latest album i listened to is Micall Parknsun new material but that isn’t coming out for a while still. That Me Myself & Akai album is going to blow people away. I like Sean Price and Pharoahe Monch also, I always check for them. You’ve been active in both Don’t Flop and EOW (in which you reached the UK final last year), how important do you feel it is to actively participate in this sort of competition?  I can imagine this has a great deal of benefits which go with it in terms of great exposure to a wider audience? It’s good to flex your skills and gain a little bit of exposure. Last year EOW worked well for Tenchoo and Don’t Flop worked well for Lunar C. For me anything that is recorded and posted on the internet has the potential to give you huge exposure eventually. What can people expect to see when you come to see Joker Starr at Holdin’ Court at the end of this month? We just gonna party and have fun, jump about on stage, jump in the crowd, let the crowd come on stage and entertain me it going to be so much fun. Finally, Any shout outs? Flukebeat has been going for a good number of years, can you give us a little more information on it?  How long has it been going now and how important is it to you as an artist?
