KANE FM SECOND BIRTHDAY Guildford’s only underground music station serving the local community, Kane FM, celebrate two years of legal broadcasting with not just two, but three exciting events spanning a myriad of musical genres all taking place on one night: Friday 25th October 2013. First up is a Drum n Bass Birthday Extravaganza at the Boileroom where the cream of the station’s D&B contingent will serve up the finest in upfront freshness back to back, all night long. The party also has dual significance, as Axon, one of Kane’s D&B and Dubstep Champions, says goodbye to Guildford as he heads for Vietnam. He will play alongside Diff’rent Music founder Arkaik, as well as local heroes Synergy aka Subterra, Bazil and Lean as well as a host of other Kane DJs & MCs. Those that attended the rammed to the rafters Kane FM Outlook event back in April, will know this is one not to be missed. Running simultaneously at The Stoke, Surrey Hip Hop curators Phylum team up with Kane FM & Reading based Holdin’ Court to present “Working Class Dad” and UK Lyrical genius Micall Parknsun, performing tracks from his acclaimed new album,  “Me, Myself and Akai”. Supporting him will be legendary homegrown turntablist Jazz T, alongside Jyager and many more. Finally, what good night out could be complete without a healthy and hefty dose of Funk & Soul? The Kings Head, conveniently situated across the road from The Stoke will host some of the stations finest and soulful selectors spinning everything from rare 45s to stone cold classics, absolutely free of charge. Entry to The Boileroom and Stoke is via a £5 wristband which allows unlimted access to all of the evening’s milestone celebrations, and can be obtained from either venue. The proceedings continue until 3am in the morning with the Boileroom being the latest to close. For more information keep it locked to Kane 103.7FM or check out kanefm.com
