Nature’s Greatest Mystery Well..It’s not often that four British rappers can get on the same track, let alone a whole album and sound tight without one being perceived by the listener as either weaker or stronger than the others.  After a good few plays here at HC HQ, this album seems to be a welcome exception to that fact.  The Four Owls consist of Fliptrix, Verb T, Leaf Dog, and BVA MC and their debut album is Nature’s Greatest Mystery. The production in its entirety, comes from Leaf Dog.  For the most part, the beats are strong and heavy hitting.  The catchy stand-out tracks are “Not Like Before” and “Lights Off” but for us “Life In The Balance” which features Jam Baxter, also stands out because it shows The Owls ability to take the tempo and their attitude down substantially without alienating this track from the rest of the album. Some might find Nature’s Greatest Mystery a little too much to take in after the first few listens, so in a sense it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll have this stuck on repeat just to study the lyricism. This is a welcome project from High Focus Records and an ideal Christmas Present for yourself! We recommend you pick up a copy on CD and/or 12” Vinyl HERE. Furthermore, You can catch The Four Owls Performing as part of their Album-Launch Tour: December 8th: Raygun Youth at The Soul Cellar, Southampton December 9th: Suspect Packages at Vibe Bar, Shoreditch, East London
